Properties: colorless semi-transparent crystal or white powder. Specific gravity is 1.52. Melting point is 34.6℃. Soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. Weathering in the dry air. It loses all water of crystallization at 100℃ and breaks up into sodium pyrophosphate at 250℃.
Uses: as analytical reagent, PH reagent, boiler water softener, food additive, culture agent for penicillin and streptomycin.
